Match Report

Torro Utd Youths moved into the Semi-Final berth with victory over Borora Juniors from Moynalty.

Ben Reilly opened Torro’s account in the 12th minute when he collected Daniel Gavagan’s cross and deftly fire to the net. 29 minutes in and Kian McGee made it two when he also collected from another Gavagan assist.

In the 35th minute, Ben Reilly hit the post with a header from a McGee cross, and then soon after Glen Murphy saw his headed effort crash off the crossbar after Aaron Johnson delivered a long free in the danger area. That’s the way it stayed to half-time with Torro Utd in a commanding lead.

Second half changes in personnel but no change in style and commitment. Borora Juniors should have pulled one back when a shot flashed by the post. This was a warning to Torro Utd and they duly delivered the killer strike in the 70th minute when Luke Kealy dribbled into the opposition box and fired to the net. Torro opened up and multiple chances went begging with the Borora Juniors netminder making some great saves coupled with some wayward shooting. In the 87th minute, Oisin Cummins Fuller then provided a great cross for Luke Kealy to chest into an open net to leave the result in no doubt. Next up is a Shield Semi-Final date with Drogheda Boys.
