Torro Utd is located 5 miles outside Navan on the Kingscourt/Navan road. Torro Utd all began in 1970 when Robbie Leonard, Jimmy Bellew and Hugh McHugh held a meeting in Kilberry old school to see what interest there was in setting up a soccer team in the Parish. There was a great turnout and it was unanimously agreed that a club be formed. Robbie Leonard chaired the meeting and asked everyone to think of a name. When they met again a week later a variety of names were presented but it was the name that was put forward by Jimmy Bellew (the name of a former club in England) that was selected – TORRO UTD
